Frequently asked
Questions, answered plainly.
How detection, attribution, billing and payouts work on AroofNigeria. If something is still unclear, the team is one message away.
Who can register on AroofNigeria?+
Two groups: rights holders (songwriters, composers, producers, performers and publishers) and venues (radio stations, clubs, restaurants, hotels, retail spaces and event venues). Each account type gets its own dashboard and its own role in the royalty chain.
How are plays actually detected?+
Venue plays are captured by Audoo hardware units installed on site. Radio plays are captured by sampling station streams across the country. Both types of detection flow into the same usage log, tagged with the venue, city and time of the play.
What happens after I register a song?+
The work enters your catalogue in a pending state until its split sheet is confirmed. Once the shares are agreed by every collaborator, detections of that song can be credited and included in statements.
How do split sheets work between collaborators?+
The primary registrant creates the split sheet, adds each co-owner with their percentage and role, and sends them an email invitation. Each collaborator confirms or rejects their share, so the final split is a recorded agreement rather than a verbal one.
How do venues get billed?+
Venues are invoiced per period based on the plays detected at their location. Invoices show total plays and the amount due in naira, and can be paid online from the venue dashboard.
When and how do rights holders get paid?+
Rights holders request a payout against their accrued balance, providing their bank details. An administrator reviews and approves the request, and the funds are transferred to that account in naira.
Can I see the plays behind a payment?+
Yes. Usage logs can be filtered by song, venue, city and date, and each line item shows the station or venue, the time of play and the revenue it generated. A statement is an audit trail, not a summary.
What does it cost to join?+
Registration is free for both rights holders and venues. Reach out through the contact page and we will walk you through onboarding, including any monitoring hardware your venue needs.
